My approach

Friendly and easy going

I understand how intimidating it might feel talking to a professional about your personal life, and how embarrassing it might be to ask for help. I also know that no one is perfect, my children aren’t perfect, and my parenting isn’t perfect either! You are the expert when it comes to your family and my goal is to work with you to figure out how we can make each day that little bit easier, and to help you feel more on top of how you parent your children.

Practical solutions

Understanding the behaviour of your children is an important part of feeling confident in the way that you parent. But what makes the real difference is having practical things to actually do to manage tricky behaviours and encourage the behaviours you want to see. My experience as a psychologist has involved designing behaviour plans and working alongside parents and caregivers providing in the moment coaching to ensure we have the right strategies in place, and to help build confidence in using them. I’m not about writing a report and sending you on your way, I want to work alongside you to offer practical advice.

Behavioural psychology

I work with a behavioural approach, which essentially means I aim to figure out; a. what motivates a person to use a particular behaviour and b. what makes them more likely to use that same behaviour again and again - these are sometimes called factors that influence behaviour. Once we know these things, I can help you to work out how we change these ‘factors’ to decrease the likelihood of unhelpful behaviours and teach positive, helpful behaviours.

My Family Services

  • In person sessions $180*

Sessions are approximately one hour. We can talk about what's going on, i'll observe you and your child if that's practical, and we'll come up with a plan that works for you.

*Sessions cost $180, or $140 if you have a community services card.

To save time (and money) I'll send you some forms to fill out before we get started.

You pay 50% before the visit, and 50% to receive the plan after the visit.

  • Session Package $1200

For some families, one visit with some advice and a plan is enough. Other families might decide they need a bit more.

The session package includes six in person sessions, coaching during those sessions, phone support and debriefing (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday).

  • Brief phone consultation $50

Commiting to an in person session isn’t easy. A brief phone consultation is 30 minutes, you can let me know what’s going on, I’ll explain how I think I could help (and maybe give some advice over the phone), and hopefully this chat helps you decide whether you think having an in person session would help you and your family.

You can also have a brief phone consult if you have had one in person session and just need a little bit more help over the phone.
